On the beach, draw in Sardinia

Just to show what it’s like drawing and painting outdoors in Sardinia in summer, here’s a quiet western beach and a simple ballpoint pen sketch.

More info about single and group plain air courses with me at Thanks for reading and watching.

Bosa Waterfront

Bosa is a little town located in norh-western Sardinia, between Alghero and Oristano.
This is its waterfront on the Temo River, in this watercolor painting you can see the medieval castle built on the top of Serravalle hill and the old bridge.
Origin of this town is very ancient and you can find traces about since the Phoenician Age.

Cargo ship in Genova Harbor.

Genova Harbor has historically been one of the most important ports on the Mediterranean and it is the busiest in Italy, maybe in the Mediterranean Sea too.
Anyway it’s a very beautiful place to watercolorists.
when I boarding up I like painting and waiting that ship departs.
This is a tipical scene of portual hard work and you can see the dock by towers crane in backlight and the old harbor on the background too.

Torre Grande, Sardinia West Coast.

A beautifull marine town near Oristano, it’s a ideal place for drawing and watercolor practice.
This is the crossing toward the spanish tower and you can see that the sun in Sardinia, during summer, is a really hard sun that give paintings with big contrast effects.

A five minutes holiday sketch in Sardinia.

A girl and her boyfriend windsurfer, they parked near my mobile studio and I immediately took advantage of it.
Even on holiday you can draw,  just a simple pen, a sketchbook, and eyes to see the opportunities.

Learning is easy!
